The Western Pennsylvania Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA, is a 251-bed academic medical center that has been regionally and nationally recognized for excellence in nursing, bone marrow and cell transplantation, burn care and reproductive medicine. The hospital's obstetrics program is one of the busiest in the region, with more than 3000 deliveries each year, and its Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit admits about 700 critically ill newborns annually, making it one of the region's largest referral resources. West Penn Hospital also is home to the patient offices for the Jones Institute at West Penn Allegheny Health System, an affiliate of the renowned Jones Institute for Reproductive Medicine of the Eastern Virginia Medical School.

Job Summary : Performs day to day clinical and patient care activities.

Job Responsibilities:
Communicates pertinent patient data accurately and in a timely fashion to the RN.
Accurately documents vital signs, weights, I&O, restrain! ts, specimen collection, ECG completion, and all other treatments.

Contributes to achievement of department, divisional, and organizational goals.

Assumes responsibility for own growth and development.

Education Requirements:
LPN/GPN or Certification as a nursing assistant, medical assistant, paramedic, or EMT.

Experience Requirements:
Previous patient care experience.

Experience with blood draws, patient monitors and Accu-cheks.
