The Admission Officer is part of a team designing, implementing and managing recruitment programs to identify, recruit and enroll candidates from the US as well as from the rest of the world to Penn'! s four undergraduate schools: the College of Arts and Sciences, the School of Engineering and Applied Science, The School of Nursing Science and The Wharton School of Business. The Admissions Officer will organize and implement recruitment programs and will serve as the featured public speaker in a range of forums with prospective students, parents, secondary school counselors, educational officials and Penn alumni. The Admissions Officer will also be responsible for the careful review of applicants from an assigned region to Penn's undergraduate programs, as well as serve as a specialist on educational systems domestically and internationally. The Admissions Officer has responsibility to work as part of a team to achieve the institution's goals in enrolling a class that is intellectually curious and diverse, culturally rich, and represents the ideals and principles of the University of Pennsylvania.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree required; graduate degr! ee preferred. Level A: 1 to 2 years of direct or related exper! ience (Level B: 3 to 5 years of progressively responsible experience in admissions, higher education or a related field, and demonstrated ability to manage a broader portfolio of responsibilities) or equivalent combination of education and experience. Familiarity with selective college admissions preferred.

Strong communication skills required, including excellent writing ability, public speaking experience and exceptional interpersonal skills. Must be skilled at managing and prioritizing projects in a high-volume and timeline-driven process. Robust analytical and critical thinking skills are vital including strong data analysis skills, ability to compile, assess and evaluate data. Working knowledge of Excel and familiarity with other computer applications and general information management required. Fluency in modern languages and skills in recruitment are a plus.

A valid driver's license and the ability to travel 6 to 8 weeks a year is required. The job ! also requires the ability to work evenings and weekends as needed.
