Tracking Code 24179 Job Description Clinical Nursing Coordinator Opportunity WellSpan Lung, Sleep, & Critical Care About the Position Performs a variety of clinical and administrative duties related to clinical staff management,case management, patient care assessment, patient education, quality assessment and direct patient careperforms a variety of clinical and administrative duties related to clinical staff management,case management, patient care assessment, patient education, quality assessment and direct patient care. The qualified candidate will be responsible for carrying out the following duties: Supervises clinical staff by training, allocating and monitoring work. Prepares work schedules of clinical staff; approves/disapproves scheduled time off. Assists manager with interviewing, hiring, orienting and training of clinical staff.

Evaluates performance of designated clinical staff. Coordinates continuing education of clinical staff and assures clinical competencies are met. Performs a variety of duties related to case management. Provides direct patient care, evaluates outcomes, consults with other specialists as required and adjusts nursing care processes as indicated to ensure optimal patient care.

Writes initial nursing histories, assesses patients' conditions and develops individual care plans for patients. Prepares patients for scheduled procedures to assist in patient assessment. Assists physicians with examinations, procedures and other processes related to direct patient care. Arranges for patients' ordered diagnostic and therapeutic services.

Monitors and ensures accuracy of recording on patient medical records. Maintains all required reports, records, statistics, etc. Provides health care instruction/education to patient and family members. Performs a variety of nursing administrative duties.

Assists attending physicians and aids patients and families as needed in times of stress or crisis.
