Summary:
Pharmacy Technicians assist pharmacists in practicing palliative care for hospice patients or for patients afflicted with chronic non-malignant pain syndromes in our Medication Management Support Center

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Proficient in current technology system(s) to perform the following tasks: enter patient admissions, change an active patient to discharge/deceased status, transfer patients, update demographic changes, process refills and manipulate ProWebX

Establish a patient medication list by entering new medication(s) into work buckets for Pharmacist review

Maintain and update existing patient medication lists for Pharmacist review

Assist callers with general and customer service issues including FedEx package tracking and completing the CS report form to report all service failures

Provide superior customer service to our hospice partners

Assist local pharmacies with adjudication of claims on the HP Rx Card

Coordinate First Dose Response (FDR) and triage nurse/hospice questions related to outstanding FDR requests

Other duties as assigned

Requirements

Qualifications

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Self-motivated, organized

Team player

Ability to manage multiple priorities

Problem-solving skills and ability to follow through on tasks assigned

Adaptable to learning new systems and continual changes in practice environment

Education and/or Experience:
Pharmacy technician experience required

6 months of pharmacy technician experience preferred

Computer Skills:
General Windows-based computer skills

Strong typing skills with a minimum of 20 wpm

General working knowledge of Microsoft applications, including outlook

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations •

Must obtain national pharmacy technician certification (CPhT) with in 1 year of hire date

Current state registration where required
