Health Care Supervisor/ Unit Counselor

Description: Girl Scouts of Eastern PA, Inc. is currently seeking to employ Health Care Supervisor/ Unit Counselor right now, this occupation will be placed in Pennsylvania. Responsibilities include the safeguarding of camper and staff health, safety, and security, keeping a health log, maintaining an inventory of health supplies, and securing any medications. This individual will also process health forms and make parent contacts as necessary.
Key Performance Objectives:
- Responsible for ensuring each staff member and camper has on file a health history and examination form as required
- Set up system for he! alth screening for arriving campers and staff
- Maintai! n the infirmary facility
- Secure and dispense all medications brought to camp by campers and staff as required
- Guide campers in participating successfully in camp activities; helping each participant to meet the goals established by the camp for camper development
- Other responsibilities as assigned
- Mature adult twenty-one years of age and older as determined by the American Camp Association
- Currently in the process of obtaining or licensed in Pennsylvania as a registered nurse, doctor, EMT or LPN
- Documented experience with children and young adults
- Ability to originate, update, and/or monitor health care, maintain records, and implement the health care plan
- Current CPR and first aid certifications
- Good communication and leadership skills, and the ability to act calmly in the event of an emergency
- Able to function as part of a team
- Abili! ty to assist in leading activities
- Communication and leadership skills
- Knowledge of and ability to work with children
- Knowledge of GSUSA, ACA, OSHA and other government and private health and safety regulations affecting camp management is preferred
