The primary function of this role will be to facilitate procedures in the interventional cardiology lab and to ensure a safe transition post procedure. This will include calling all interventional cardiology patients within 24 hours after discharge from the hospital. The nurse will proactively help patients deal with any issues or questions they may have and will ensure patients are following discharge instructions
Minimum Requirements
BSN required. Minimum 2 years experience as a bedside nurse or procedural nurse, preferably in cardiac surgery or cardiology. Experience in quality / regulatory arena a plus.

Must have exceptional interpersonal skills and be able to ask probing questions over the phone to adequately assess patient status. Must have effective and professional communication skills, both verbal and written. Must be able to triage issues identified on the phone appropriately and expeditiously. Must ensure follow through from patient to care providers and back including specific documentation of information. Must have the ability to interact with all levels of the organization in a professional manner. Must be able to maintain positive interactions with patients, their families, and associated medical professionals in a respectful and courteous manner. Must uphold the department’s goal of exceptional patient satisfaction and use all resources to maintain positive patient experiences. Confidentiality of patient information is required at all times. Must demonstrate initiative in learning.
