This position has a 30-minute response time for on-call for weeknights, weekends and holidays, in addition to regular scheduled shifts.
Responsible for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating nu! rsing care for a designated group of patients. Our progressive and innovative surgical team fosters an environment that is challenging, dynamic and state-of-the-art. Be a part of the dynamic team in our progressive Perioperative Division, providing cutting-edge surgery. Our Operating Room Suites consist of twenty-nine rooms. Last year, the Main OR treated in excess of 15,000 patients. Because we are part of an academic medical center, as well as a Level I Trauma Center, you'll be exposed to a wide variety of patients and experiences. Some of the OR services we provide on a daily basis include General, Vascular, Neurosurgery, Cardiothoracic, Orthopaedic, ENT, Transplantation, Gynecology, Urology, Plastic and Reconstructive, and Pediatric Surgery. Certification is encouraged and financially rewarded.
Previous Internal Plan A employees or external RN candidates with 4 years of RN Operating Room experience.
Registered Nurse with license to practice professiona! l nursing in the state of Pennsylvania or Registered Nurse fro! m another state with a Temporary PA Practice Permit.
Six months RN experience.
Able to sit occasionally; stand constantly; walk frequently.
Able to lift/carry 0-10 lbs frequently; 11-50 lbs occasionally.
Able to push/pull 0-20 lbs frequently; 21-75 lbs occasionally.
Able to climb occasionally; reach constantly.
Able to use hand for simple/firm grasping.
Plan A Requirements:
Must work 12 hours per schedule; may work in 4-, 8- or 12-hour increments.
Competencies in addition to your work schedule.
6 12-hour shifts (any increments) weekend and/or off-shifts and/or on-call per year.
1 minor (8 hours) rotating holiday per calendar year (January-January).
In odd years (2013, 2015), will work 8 hours before a minor holiday and 8 before a major holiday.
In even years (2014, 2016), will work 8 hours after a minor holiday and 8 hours after a major holiday.
Pl! ease give all availability for the schedule at scheduling time - will schedule a total of 28 hours for RNs, following that, we will continue to schedule per your availability. We will not schedule overtime.
Only mandatory education for units is paid time.
All Plan A RNs will be part of the Floating rotation of the unit.
Bachelor's degree in Nursing.
If chosen for this position, you will be required to pass a Post Offer Employment Physical Exam in accordance with the measurements listed in the (WTA) Work Task Analysis report.
