The Hospital CDM Compliance Analyst is primarily responsible for the review and validation of all technical charges that compromise the University of Pennsylvania Health System (HUP, PMC, and PAH Hospitals) Charge Description! Masters (CDM), the master price list of all services, devices! , and medications charged for inpatient and outpatient services.
Incumbent will also participate in performing coding research and other hospital based audit activity that may be necessary in support of the Department mission.

Minimum Requirements

  • Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) or CPC certification within 6 months of employment
  • BA or BS in related field required, (nursing, health information management highly desirable) or related work experience.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology necessary.
  • Course work in human anatomy and physiology necessary.
  • Minimum of two (2) years experience in a related field (outpatient coding, APC analysis, Chargemaster maintenance and statistical analysis).
  • ICD-9-CM and CPT/HCPCS Levels I, II, and III coding/billing experience required.
  • Proficiency with outpatient billing and documentation standards, particularly the Medicare OPPS/APC payment regulations.
  • Familiarity with 3M coding and reimbursement systems and Hospital SMS preferred.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
