The representative will be responsible to meet or exceed established program sales and market share targeting endocrinologists and primary care physicians within a given geographical territory.

  • Ability to leverage cardio metabolic product and disease state knowledge into advanced sales messaging that challenges the physician’s mindset
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding assigned sales goals and performance metrics.
  • Develop and execute robust territory business plans that maximize selling resources to accelerate sales growth & product volume.
  • Utilize effective selling skills and product knowledge to inform healthcare professionals (“HCP”) about the benefits and risks of assigned products to help advance appropriate patient use.
  • Effectively execute brand strategies to ensure a consistent company sales and marketing message.
  • Analyze territory information to optimize routi! ng & daily sales activity and to gain access to prescribing de! cision makers.
  • Pre-call plan to meet HCP needs. Leverage data and customer knowledge to develop and maintain strong working relationships with cardio-metabolic medical community, providers and decisions makers.
  • Effectively execute required REM’s activities in a professional, compliant, and ethical manner.
  • Maintain superior levels of product, market, reimbursement, formulary, managed care, customer, competitor product and distribution knowledge.
  • Actively pursue continuous learning and professional development on efficient sales, communication & product knowledge training.
  • Capitalize on formulary approvals and other opportunities through effective implementation of the Strategic Targeting and pull through Plan.
  • Appropriately leverage resources and apply sound account management skills and perseverance to secure customer access and maximize selling time
  • Drive market share growth and maximize sales performance wit! hin the indicated use and approved patient types; possess a high level of ethics, integrity, and trust; and, adhere to all applicable laws, regulations, and company policies.
  • Uphold the PDI values and leadership attributes by adhering to the PhRMA Code, Prescription Drug Marketing Act of 1987 and the regulations promulgated thereunder (“PDMA”) from time to time, OIG regulations, and all PDI Compliance SOPs
  • Attend all company sponsored sales and medical meetings as directed by management
  • Ability to develop deep customer insights, build and maintain strong professional relationships with physicians (specialists and general practice), medical group practices, pharmacists, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, office staff and other health care providers in the patient care continuum
Position Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from a 4 year accredited college or university required.
  • 3- 7 years of previous sal! es experience in the pharmaceutical, biotech, or related industry
  • !
  • 1-2 years experience in business to business sales is preferred
  • Institutional sales and/or extensive experience in large health systems account management is highly desirable. (i.e. VA/Health Systems customers)
  • Possess a core knowledge in the co-morbid areas of diabetes, hypertension, and/or dislipidemia and have experience and demonstrated success calling on the physicians who are specialists in Endocrinology, Cardiology, and/or Hospital Systems.
  • Experience launching a primary Cardio-metabolic product and/or experience establishing a new category of medication (i.e. statins, cox-2 inhibitors, biologics, etc.) preferred.
  • Ability to leverage cardio metabolic product and disease state knowledge into advanced sales messaging that challenges the physician’s mindset. Models active listening skills and superior probing/questioning ability.
  • Must possess current knowledge of pertinent health care industry trends, sales trends, mark! et dynamics, competitors, applicable laws and regulations, health care payer environment, and analyze each of these factors in the development of actionable business plans.
  • Demonstrates an understanding of goals and major initiatives; prepares realistic business plans and appropriately utilizes budget and resources to deliver quality results within desired timelines.
  • Ability to utilize data to identify trends and develop territory business strategies and tactics to achieve desired outcomes based on thorough analysis.
  • Can demonstrate initiative, tenacity, and ability to overcome obstacles and/or set-backs.
  • Familiarity with a variety of distribution channels.
  • Highly effective organizational skills to implement a variety of programs, such as speaker programs and other activities.
  • Proven track record in delivering results and developing innovative approaches in evolving markets.
  • Previous new product or concept launc! h experience desired.
  • A strong customer focus and analytical s! kills to identify and prioritize business opportunities is required.
  • Ability to learn, apply and grow disease state knowledge required.
  • Able to effectively communicate complex technical information to a variety of customers in multiple settings.
  • Technical aptitude to learn and apply new technologies to manage a territory and engage customers.
  • Function independently with a high degree of sales proficiency.
  • An understanding and working knowledge of all applicable statutes, ordinances, regulations, rules or orders of any local, state or federal government authority, including, without limitation, the FDCA, the PDMA, and the Anti-Kickback Statute (42 U.S.C. §1320a-7b et seq.), and the Federal Sunshine Act.
  • Proficient in PC skills and utilizing required electronic sales reports and tools.
  • Manual dexterity required to operate office equipment (i.e. computers, phones, etc.).
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Daily business travel by air or car is required.
