Cardiac Step Down Unit (CCU) of this leading academic childrenÂ's hospital
in the Eastern United States. The Pediatric Nurse Practitioner in the
CCU directs the management of children who require less than intensive care to
include those who are recovering from heart surgery following a stay in the
CICU, transplant or arrhythmia patients on intravenous medications and children
receiving non-surgical treatment for a wide variety of cardiac conditions. The PNP in
the CCU is responsible for the clinical evaluation and care of CCU patients
including clinical practice, consultation, professional development, education
and research. The
CCU has been designed to provide state-of-the-art cardiac care to its patients,
with each of the beds in the 25 bed CCU being connected to a monitored
telemetry arrhythmia station.

Qualifications:
MasterÂ's degree from an accredited graduate school of nursing in a pediatric acute care/critica! l care program, required; registered nurse license in Pennsylvania, required; certified registered nurse practitioner in Pennsylvania, required; Certificate of Prescriptive Authority in Pennsylvania, required; national certification as a Nurse Practitioner in cardiology (acute care/critical care), required; two years of nurse practitioner experience, required; pediatric cardiology experience, required.
