The Robert Packer Hospital Staff Registered Nurse (RN) utilizes a holistic! systems approach to protect and promote client wellness and safety in the physiological, psychological, social-cultural, developmental and spiritual domains. Nursing interventions are interdisciplinary, population specific and are directed toward optimal wellness.

Education

The staff nurse must be a graduate nurse eligible to take the state board examination or a registered nurse currently licensed by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing, and must successfully complete a medication and IV challenge examination as outlined by the hospital within the orientation period. In addition, the staff registered nurse must meet individual nursing unit specifications regarding educational requirements during employment.
Basic Cardiac Life Support ( BCLS) certification
Advanced Cardiac Life Support ( ACLS ) must be obtained within twelve months of hire date

Experience

Graduate nurses enter a planned medical-surgical orientation program or ! a specialty program as outlined by this hospital.
Register! ed nurses licensed in Pennsylvania with current nursing care experience enter an orientation program outlined by the hospital for the appropriate nursing unit.
Strong cardiac med surg. Experience accepted . Critical Cardiac Care preferred;
Knowledge of cardiac arrhythmia interpretation
