Geisinger Health System is seeking a nurse anesthetist (CRNA) to join our team and provide anesthesia services in the Op! erating Room in support of surgical, diagnostic and therapeutic procedures under the general supervision of an anesthesiologist.
This successful CRNA candidate will join our team in Danville, PA, where we recognize our CRNAs as valuable members of our staff and, working in concert with our physicians, they enjoy an atmosphere of mutual respect and teamwork.
Major responsibilities include, but are not limited to, participation in the call schedule, providing anesthesia care to both adult and pediatric populations encompassing a broad spectrum of surgical, diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, as well as pre and postoperative assessments; performs duties to provide the highest level of patient care and maximize patient satisfaction.
This CRNA position requires graduation from an accredited school of nurse anesthesia and an RN license or license-eligible in the State of Pennsylvania.
Must obtain and maintain BLS, ACLS, and PALS.

Location:
Primary location is Geisinger Medical Center, with travel to other Geisinger entities as needed.
Major Duties include, but are not limited to:
1. Plans and carries out anesthesia support. Confers with anesthesiologist to coordinate clinical management of patients.
2. Arranges for support equipment and proper procedures. Acquires equipment, monitors patient before, during and after the procedure. Troubleshoots and maintains equipment as needed.
3. Anesthetizes the patient. Prepares the patient for anesthesia, selects the drugs and monitors the patient throughout the process. Maintains communication with anesthesiologist and Charge CRNA as needed.
4. Accurately documents in electronic medical record.
5. Provides anesthesia to L&D Suite.
6. Evaluates the patient’s progress in achieving ! expected outcomes, identifies barriers to successful outcomes and provides follow-up.
7. Designs and provides complex teaching strategies (both formal and informal) to promote, maintain and improve health and prevent illness for the medical staff, students and community in addition to the education provided to patients, families and caregivers.
8. Self-directed and purposeful in seeking necessary knowledge and skills to develop and maintain competency within specialty range.
