Senior Application Analyst

Location: Pennsylvania

Description: St. Luke's Hospital & Health Network is in need of Senior Application Analyst right now, this position will be placed in Pennsylvania. Responsible for enhancing, supporting and maintaining an application(s) within the St. Lukes Health System with an emphasis on patient care impact, clinical outcomes and qua! lity improvement. Optimizes the application through development of new clinical functionality, testing and implementing scheduled vendor releases and system upgrades and fixing system defects. Serve as the resource for other application team members on technical and functional application analysis, defining system requirements and developing models using best practices for build and configuration, maintenance and data integrity. Work with cross functional teams and St. Lukes clients by providing education on system functionality and configuration of new tools to increase end user productivity within the application. Ensure system changes follow clinical workflow, change management procedures and protocols, create and maintain all documentation for all assigned applications and develop, plan and execute testing for supported applications. Communicates all necessary application changes, enhancements and procedures to all necessary internal and external department teams.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1.

Pr! ovide ongoing maintenance, support and development to assigned applications and implement new products. 2.

Troubleshoot, research, and solve technically challenging problems involving integrated systems.3.

Test and verify software releases, upgrades and any changes prior to the promotion of code to the production environment.4.

Generate and update appropriate documentation as per policy and procedure. Including requirements, specifications, change control, end user documentation.5.

Provide education and training for application end user community â€" keeping them informed of new release feature/functionality, changes/revisions that impact the operation.6.

Create and route required operational and management reporting needs as required by management and regulatory agencies.7.

Maintain current knowledge of technology by attending appropriate continuing education training/seminars and reading related periodicals.8.

! Solid understanding of operational / clinical services and information / work flow of assigned areas.9.

Ability to analyze, diagnose, support and implement process/operational change.10. Will interact and collaborate with all levels of healthcare personnel; IT Management, Clinicians, Consultants and Administrators.11. Active member of project team coordinating project tasks and utilizing project management skills for specific tasks.12. Participates in Hospital/Network Committees as assigned.13. Strong process improvement and project management skills.14. Level 3 support for Application related issues.15. Function as part of a team.16. On-Call Support Required17. Strong Customer Service Orientation and ability to follow through on issue resolution.18. Maintains confidentiality of all materials handled within the Network/Entity as well as the proper release of information.19. Comply with Network and Departmental policies regarding issues of employee, patient and env! ironmental safety and follows appropriate reporting requirements.20. De! monstrates/models the Network’s Service Excellence Standards of Performance in interactions with all customers (internal and external).21. Demonstrates Performance Improvement in the following areas as appropriate: Clinical care/Outcomes, customer/Service Improvement, Operational System/Process, and Safety.22. Demonstrates financial responsibility and accountability through the effective and efficient use of resources in daily procedures, processes and practices.23. Complies with Network and departmental policies regarding attendance and dress code.24. Performs additional duties dependant on department requirements.

PHYSICAL/SENSORY DEMANDS:
Sitting for up to 7 hours per day, 4 hours at a time; standing for up to 7 hours per day, 4 hours at a time; walking for up to 2 hours a day, 1 hour at a time. Requires crouching, kneeling, and lifting of objects weighing up to 60 pounds, pushing objects weighing up to 80 pounds. Requires hand and finger dexterity ! to perform repairs of small equipment and to use computer equipment. Seeing as it relates to general, near, color, and peripheral vision. Hearing as it relates to normal and telephone conversations.

Job Qualifications:

Education:
Bachelor Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, Nursing or Healthcare Administration or equivalent work experience is required.
Certification:
Not Applicable

Training and! Experience:
3 â€" 4 years of General Computer experience is required.3 â€" 4 years of Pharmacy experience is required.1 â€" 2 years of Healthcare experience is required.1 â€" 2 years of PC/LAN Support experience is preferred.PC and Printer knowledge and experience is preferred.

Application Experience:
McKesson Clinicals, Meds Manager experience is preferred

Siemen's Pharmacy experience is preferred

Orders Results Management, McKesson Horizon experience is preferred.

Call Management System, MS Visio, MS Project, MS SQL, Reporting Tools (Crystal) experience is preferred.

MS Office is required

Hospital Operations Knowledge / Experience:
General, Radiology, Pharmacy, Nursing, Physician Services, Laboratory, Patient Care Services, Patient Processing experience preferred
