The Nurse Practitioner is an expert in pathophysiology, physical assessment and diagnosis, and pharmacology and exe! rcises authority in health promotion and disease management. The NP functions as a member of a multidisciplinary healthcare team and provides a wide range of patient services to a specific patient population across the continuum of healthcare. By utilizing the nursing process, scientific reasoning and critical problem solving, NPs practice within the scope of responsibilities and prescriptive authority defined by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing and the Medical Staff Executive at the Penn State Hershey Medical Center. This position will support the Orthopaedic Shoulder/Elbow service.

Master's degree in Nursing with clinical specialization.

Minimum of two years full-time work experience as an RN.

A minimum of 1 year experience as an NP, which may include a clinical student practicum.

Current active licensure in the state of Pennsylvania.

Demonstrated effective skills in consultation.

Certification as an NP in the a! rea of practice specialization.

Experience in orthopa! edics, performing H&Ps and managing outpatients.

This position requires approval from the credentialing committee prior to employment start date.
